Davide Tonelli, born in 1980, Product Designer and Creative Director lives

and works in the very heart of Ceramic District.

In 2010 he became Creative Director of Gamma Due S.p.A., an Italian company active in the world of ceramic design applications.

In 2013 he founded the brand Ornamenta, specialized in the production of decorative surfaces where avant-garde industrial processes combine with painstaking workmanship to create unique collections.

In 2016 he was honored for the first time with the “Coverings Best in Show” for the design of a temporary pop up shop available in 3 sizes.

In 2016 he set up his own agency D-Segno Studio in Fiorano Modenese, working on product development, art direction, strategic branding and interior design. The same year as Creative Director of Ornamenta was awarded with the ADI Ceramic Design Award for the collection Oplus made in collaboration with AZE Studio.

In 2017 graduated from Italian Design Institute in Interior Design.

In 2017 he won the European Product design Award with the “Gone” Collection designed for Ornamenta, honored as Silver in Home Interior Products/Materials and surfaces, Bronze in Material Design/Manufacturing.

In 2018 he was honored for the second time with the “Coverings Best in Show” for best “Open Concept,” as the booth exterior features open sides, allowing visitors view the tile products from multiple angles.

He works as product and graphic designer for leading companies in the ceramic industry and his works have been displayed at major ceramic industry fairs, including Cersaie (Bologna), Coverings’ (Usa), Cevisama (Spain).
